Dr. Lam caught the “animal bug” young.  Growing up, her family raised and hunted English Setters so she spent many a day cleaning kennels and caring for puppies.  As such, she has a special place in her heart for working dogs.  She feels, like people, dogs are most happy when they have a purpose to serve whether that is hunting, hiking or hanging with their people.  Dr. Lam has lived in Rockford for most of her life and earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology as well as her DVM at Michigan State University.  She had a taste of the Chicago suburbs with her husband, Tony, as newlyweds, but returned to her roots to be closer to family.  After working in the trenches of Emergency Medicine, she made a change to general practice in order to follow her passion to build more long-lasting relationships with her clients and patients.  She has a vested interest in geriatric animals and is always on the hunt to strengthen the human/animal bond through better health of her patients.  With this in mind, you will likely hear about Dr. Lam’s pets or family at some point of your office visit. When Dr. Lam is not at work, you will find her making memories with her three children: Effie, Nora, and Jackson.  Her pets are Scout the English Setter, Ferdinand the sassy cat, Murph the French Bulldog and a flock of chickens.
