Late arrivals, “no show” appointments, or canceled appointments without sufficient notice, inconvenience those individuals who need immediate appointments for veterinary care. For this reason, we have put the following policies in place.
24 Hour Cancelation Policy
Appointments are in high demand, and an early cancellation will allow another patient access to timely veterinary care. In order to be respectful of the medical needs of other patients, we ask that all appointments be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. For your convenience, you can call our office at 616-942-7387 and one of our receptionists will be happy to reschedule your appointment for another time.
*Failure to cancel an office visit at least 24 hrs. in advance may result in a missed appointment/late cancellation fee of $25.
*Failure to cancel a surgery at least 48 hours in advance may result in a missed appointment/late cancellation fee of $100.
Late Arrival Policy
We make every effort to be on time for all our appointments. Unfortunately, when even one patient arrives late, it can throw off the entire schedule for that day. In addition, rushing or “squeezing in” an appointment contributes to decreased quality of care. Therefore, we ask If you are going to be more than 5 minutes late for your scheduled appointment time, please call the clinic. If you will be more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.
A veterinary/client relationship is built on mutual trust and respect. We strive to be on time for your scheduled appointments and ask that you give us the courtesy of a call when you are unable to keep your appointment. As a courtesy, we provide reminder calls and/or PetDesk reminders before your appointment. However, you are responsible to remember your appointment regardless.
A “no-show “appointment is when you fail to show up for an appointment without a phone call or cancel without at least a 24-hour notice. If you fail to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment, you will be notified. If a 2nd missed appointment occurs within a 12-month period, a $50 late fee charge will be collected.
Surgery Appointment “No-Show” Policy
A surgery “no-show” is a client who misses a surgery appointment without providing 48-hour notice of cancellation. The 1st time this occurs we will call to offer to reschedule the appointment. At this time, a missed surgery appointment fee of $100 will be charged and applied as a surgery credit to your account. At the 2nd missed surgical appointment, you will be charged a second non-refundable missed appointment fee of $100. If a 3rd missed surgical appointment occurs, you will be discharged from the practice.
